Two Men Charged for Inmate Homicide of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after admitting a string of sex offences which included the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were taken as evidence.
