Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Turdy Character in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered a variety of entertaining indie games. However, one is particularly notable for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game includes a protagonist that is actually a piece of poop attempting to make its way to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is simple: just use a one button to leap. Throughout one hundred fifty challenges, you'll face boss fights and visit a store to buy skins for your fecal avatar.

Time your jumps precisely, since one error requires restarting the level. Jump off air pockets to hurl your character higher, navigate crumbling platforms, and interact with buttons to reveal new areas. Gather UN-KOINS and use them on more difficult stages as things intensifies.

In terms of design, the experience boasts vibrant stages and an amazing music score. The retro graphics of morphing abstract forms could recall gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's tough to recall similar titles where you are a piece of feces, gaming often included fecal matter. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from protagonist droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as fertilizer. Unsurprisingly, this theme is present a lot in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous premise, Unko Technica has already received significant recognition, such as being named best at Bandai Namco's game competition in 2023. The demo is ready at present on Steam, with the final release set to launch on PC in the fall.
